Cambridge United supporters are invited to step onto the pitch at Cledara Abbey Stadium on 17 April for a special charity football match, hosted once again by long-time Club partner CB Groundworks. The match will feature a line-up of well-known former U’s, including Josh Coulson, Warren Goodhind, Ian Miller, Liam O’Neil, John Taylor, Kevin Massey, Steve Fallon, Andy Beattie, Robbie Simpson, Omer Riza and more. Cambridge United's charity match is an important event, generating strong support for two fantastic causes, Cambridge United Foundation and Ian Darler's Cambridge Charity Fundraisers. The event is always enjoyable and brings together people who share a love for both football and Cambridge United, while supporting the club's aim to address inequality across the city. Kevin Johnson of CB Groundworks said, “It’s always a brilliant occasion and an important one too, generating strong support for two fantastic causes.” Vicky Neal from Cambridge United Foundation added, “We’re excited for another memorable evening that combines football with fundraising, working alongside CB Groundworks and Cambridge Charity Fundraisers.” The money raised will go directly towards supporting local causes and initiatives, helping to improve lives across the community. Entry to the event is £150 per person with limited spaces left, all proceeds will be divided between both charities. Participants must be aged 18 or over. For those who just want to watch, supporters are warmly invited to attend free of charge, enjoy the match, and take part in the raffle afterwards. The club is proud to play a key role in making the event happen and encourages people to come along and support the cause.
