Cambridge United’s away match at Sheffield Wednesday has been postponed. The League One fixture, scheduled for Saturday 3 October, will be rearranged after the hosts had multiple players called up for international duty.
All tickets purchased for the original date will remain valid for the rescheduled game. Supporters who cannot attend the new date can request a refund by contacting the club's Ticket Office. The club stated that a new date for the fixture will be confirmed in due course.
Focus shifts to Oxford
The postponement alters the immediate schedule for a Cambridge side sitting fourth in the table. They have 11 points from six games and are just two points behind the current leaders, Sheffield Wednesday. Their next assignment is a trip to face sixth-placed Oxford United this Saturday, 19 September.
News regarding the status of next Saturday's home game against AFC Wimbledon is expected to be released later today. The U's recent form reads WDWLL from their last five outings, with their most recent result a 2-1 home victory over Reading on 12 September. The club's current league position and squad details are available on our standings and squad pages.
