Cambridge United travel to Gillingham for their EFL Trophy group stage match on Tuesday evening. The U's head to Kent looking to find a winning rhythm after a 1-1 draw at Oxford United last weekend.

That result at the Kassam Stadium kept Cambridge 5th in the League One table, with 12 points from their opening seven matches. Ben Knight scored the equaliser in the 57th minute, assisted by Dominic Ball, to secure a point on the road.

Their form in the last five games reads two wins, two draws and one defeat. The sequence includes a 2-1 victory over Reading at the Abbey Stadium and a 2-1 away win at Bradford. Gillingham, meanwhile, arrive in strong form with three consecutive wins, including a 3-0 home victory over Bristol Rovers on Saturday.

Manager Garry Monk is expected to rotate his squad for the cup fixture, with the next league game at home to AFC Wimbledon on Saturday. The full schedule of upcoming matches is available on our fixtures page. The U's last starting lineup featured Jack Eastwood in goal, with a back four of Sam Curtis, Kelland Watts, Cathal Heffernan Andrews and Callum Perry.

Tuesday's match at Priestfield Stadium kicks off at 7pm.
